NV Quevedo Special Reserve

Post by rich_n »

Part of the Quevedo Covid-19 Lockdown Tasting Pack, originally opened 7th May 2020.

Initial tasting notes:

Christmas pudding and dried fruit (raisins, dates etc) on the nose. Prickly alcohol, medicinal in the front, more dried fruits and some nuts. Rough around the edges, not smooth, quite a lot of acetic notes at the back of the palate.

Final tasting notes (11th June 2020):

Much smoother now, still showcasing the raisins and dates, but now balanced with the medicinal and eucalyptus notes. Some sticky toffee, less nutty than before. Very easy drinking. This has kept nicely and I suspect would be fine for some time. A very decent port for a special reserve, it is excellent value for money and will make an excellent cellar defender.
