Unknown UK bottler, level base of neck. Cork came out cleanly with Durand. Wine was 50% opaque with a yellow-green rim. Very herbaceous - garrigue - on the nose. Alcohol prominent. Lots of swirling released some cherry and chocolate notes. Marzipan on the mid-palate, cranberry and cherry stone on the finish. Amaretti and orange peel right at the end. Dry. I have had this port perhaps half a dozen times over the last 25 years and have always found it a bit 'hot' for my taste. It is now, I think, slightly past its best; but this bottle was still pretty good drinking. Consumed 22/03/20. Four hour decant.
