1999 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2019)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2019. A lovely toffee orange colour, 50% opaque. Smokey coffee on the nose and gentle toffee on the palate. The mid-palate has powerful acidity accompanied by generous levels of orange and marmalade lying over a touch of coffee. Deeply flavoured and well balanced, still with a touch of tannins on the late palate before the lovely orange marmalade finish. 92/100. Drunk 29-Feb-20. Decanting time N/K.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
