1966 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2019)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled December 2019. Dark orange colour, 40% opaque. Gentle VA on the nose with a warm apricot brioche, pleasantly complex. Thick in texture with lots of acidity impacting the palate. Rich in flavours, full of sweet orange and honey. The palate has a wonderful balance and a beautiful concentration of fruit and flavours. The tannins dance around the edges of the palate while the very long honey and orange peel finish settles in for a very long time. This is a very fine colheita. 95/100. Drunk 29-Feb-20. Decanting time N/K.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
