Being a 93 vintage, it has been important for me to hunt this down. Celebrating passing my viva voce seems like a good occasion to open this with some family.
Cork came out very easily - too easily some may say. Whilst decanting, it produced very little sediment. Straight from decanting, it has a very strong nose of alcohol. First sips are dominated by liquorice. More so than any Port I've had in a long time. Not a bad a thing, actually quite pleasant. Will report back after a few hours.
I have photos which need to be downsized before I upload.

2 hours later. Initial hit of orange peel quickly followed by a thick caramel. The long lingering taste is still liquorice but far more subtle than before. A nice, slight spicy mouthfeel. Drinking really quite well.

Congrats on passing! Sounds like the Port should be consumed rather sooner than later. As in, it’s in its prime drinking window at the moment.

Congratulations on passing - a big moment, and the culmination of years of hard work.
Much less seriously, a unicorn tasting note, and only the second on this site of a 1993 port of any variety. Of the last 50 years, only 1973 has fewer...
