2016 Vieira de Sousa

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep crimson colour. Ripe fruit on the nose. Lovely fruit, balanced and fresh with a massive tannin load; gripping and very firm, but with the fruit to last and linger. This will turn into an amazing Port in 50 year time. The aftertaste is incredibly fragrant, full of perfumed fruit. A massive finish, full of intense blackcurrant flavours and ripe tannins - and a stunning length. Tremendous Port. 94-96/100. 16-Apr-2019.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
