2004 Croft LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

One of the Tesco half bottles; bottled 2009. Decanted off a surprising amount of sediment. Deep red in colour, looking to be in early maturity; opaque. Almost nothing on the nose, but it has just come out of the cellar. Modest fruit on the palate on entry, but the fruit builds up nicely. Green tannins grip firmly within the palate, supporting the slightly sour stewed fruit. Tannins and cranberries on the aftertaste and a red cherry led finish. 84/100. 14-Mar-19. Decanted 30 minutes.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
