Deep red rose color with barely a clear rim. Noise is sweet with a candyish raisin quality. Super soft and subtle, lovely mouth feel. Hints of strawberry and cooked kumquats with an occasional hint of white pepper. Really in a good sport right now. 94 points

Vesuvio 1992 comes in with a huge black pepper nose (though this bottle started with a lot of bottle stink), in the mouth that carries through to black pepper and spices, and a clear note of tobacco, on a backdrop of dark fruits. The vesuvio "bite" is present but not overwhelming. 92.
