1975 Fonseca (half)
20% opacity, ultra clear, copper orange. Lovely rich sweet cherry nose, with tertiary notes of leather. Smooth entry, nicely balanced, mid weight. Cherries, slightly drying out, just enough acidity to give structure. Huge long aftertaste of cherries.
A real surprise this, for a 1975. Just at the inflexion point where fruit begins to dry out and fade a little, and therefore a lovely silky mature port.
