2016 Pintas

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Narrow purple rim. A fresh blackcurrant nose, more fragrant and pronounced than the 2015 shown alongside. Deep sweet fruit on the palate, immensely elegant and refined. Big on the palate with powerful tannins that grip firmly but soften to allow through a beautiful fragrance on the late palate. A massive aftertaste and huge length finish. This is a superb port; balanced, elegant and truly stunning. 94-96/100. Drunk 12 Nov 2018.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
