Fruit principally sourced from Quinta do Porto. Wonderful fruit dominates the nose. Thick, smooth and rounded entry with the fruit poised on the tongue. Tannins are fierce and dominate the mid-palate, overwhelming the fruit on the late palate — but never completely. A great combination of powerful grip and ripe fruit. The finish is long, fruit driven, full of blueberry and with the tannins holding firm. Great port. The ability to produce three different ports, each in their house style but to such a high standard is very impressive. 94-96/100. Drunk 29-Sep-18.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
