2016 Pintas

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

3,500 bottles produced, available in the UK through Corney & Barrow. Deep red colour with a very narrow rim. Effusive fruit on the nose, very powerful and dominating. On the palate this has a smooth texture with sweet strawberry fruit and delicious charcoal tannins, the tannins deliver a great dark chocolate finish that has great length. This is another big port, but is more balanced and refined than the Passadouro. 90-92/100. Tasted 24-Sep-18.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
