2016 Quinta do Passadouro

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

2,000 bottles produced. Available in the UK through Fields, Morris & Verdin. Very red in tone, scarlet with a small rim. Subdued nose with the pure spirit showing as a slight touch of blueberry. Languid flavours flow onto the palate, smooth at first and then the big tannins grab hold. Big fruit with big tannins. A lovely fruit led finish backs up the tannic black chocolate grip. This port has a great set of components put together in a well balanced manner to create a big port. 89-91/100. Tasted 24-Sep-18
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
