2016 Warre

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Opaque. Esteva nose, lightly fruity and very floral. Sweet balanced entry with round fruit that has a lovely intensity. Slightly deeper than some ports with sweet ripe fruit, round smooth blackcurrant. Nicely balanced aftertaste and a great intensely fruity finish. A very good Warre with the refined balance you would expect from this house. 92-94.

Tasted 12 September 2018.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

W16 Deep ruby red with an inky black core. A very elegant port. Soft, smooth, fresh with red fruit dominating. Great balance and a wonderful finish. A very lovely port.

95% opacity, dark, dark red. Blackberry and bramble on the nose. Dry, medium level of tannin. Sweet blackberries. Nice and rounded.
