Inky black in colour, an incredible density of colour compared to most other ports from this vintage. Dense nose full of violets and black plums. A sparkle on entry from the acidity delivers a good dense palate that is full of concentrated flavour with fruit and acidity emerging in just the right proportions. A great tannic core which will become more obvious over the next 5-10 years as the fruit settles in. This is very much a fruit forward wine with a great structure. Nice port, without being great port. 88-90.
Tasted 12 September 2018.

V16 Deep ruby red with purple tinge, lovely nose. Sweet, smooth and silky on the palate. Long finish with well balanced acidity. A beautiful port but paled a bit against the special Capella release.
