A port which is just opaque at the centre. Smelling slightly of vanilla biscuits and the hint of blue cheese seen on some ports before the spirit fully integrates. The nose is a little off-putting. Gentle and smooth entry with restrained fruit at first and then the huge tannins and immense acidity take hold. Slightly baked tone of green hazelnuts and fresh blackcurrant shows on the mid and late palate. The finish is of medium length, highly acidic but refined with blackcurrant and plenty of cracked pepper. 86-88.
Tasted 12 September 2018.

Ms16 Deep ruby red with an inky blank core. Lovely nose, lots of fruit on the palate. Very smooth. Unlike most others on the night, I thought this port had the edge over the Cachao due to its smoothness and better balance, but there was not much in it.

85% opacity, dull red. Lots of heat along the palate, medium acidity, bit flabby. Strawberry.
