Lighter in tone than the Taylor shown alongside this port. Nosing of rock rose and wine gums, slightly sour as seems to be a characteristic of the vintage. Purple fruit and a good dose of tannin on the palate, tannins which quickly vanish behind the plummy fruit that is focused nicely by the acidity. A good finish which is slightly sticky but provides for a nice fruit length. This is sweeter and with more overt fruit that the Taylor, but doesn't have the same balance or refinement. 91-93.

F16 Med/deep ruby red (no purple tinge). Much more red fruit on the nose and palate than some tonight. Lots of jammy raspberry, but not in a reductive way. Much more acidity than the Taylor's. White pepper and some spice, Long finish, but felt slightly out of balance at this stage with the acidity dominating a fraction. Still a lovely port but others were stronger on the evening.

70% opacity, dark red. Strawberry nose. Smooth, mid-weight, lovely sweet strawberry. Dry at the finish, tannin light and soft.
