Served by the glass at Bar Douro @ £14 for a 100ml pour.

Dark red, but with a dark brown tone; opaque with a narrow rim. Gentle, sweet attractive fruit nose, complex with sweet damson and green vegetal notes.

Very lovely on the palate. Full of fruit with the tannin and acidity to balance perfectly. The fruit is fairly one-dimensional, but dominates the palate. Rich and fruity aftertaste and a big finish, full of black cherry and dark plum. Probably the best glass of Ch97 I have drunk to date. 90/100. 5 September 2018. Decanted 18 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
