One for the team, tasted at 05.45 in the BA lounge in Heathrow Terminal 3.
Dark red colour, but with none of the purple of youth; 80% opaque. Fruity nose with pleasant sweet bramble combined nicely with sharp cranberry. On the palate this is balanced and poised. The fruit is a little light at first, the tannins dry and firm and the acidity pronounced. It takes until the late palate for the fruit to really show and for the balance to come through with a lovely chocolate and sour cherry. The aftertaste is dominated by the acidity but the finish is long and very tasty, full of black chocolate and sour cherry. 87/100. 8 Jan 2018.
