2015 Pintas

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

2,500 bottles produced. Deep purple colour with no rim. Blueberry dominated nose, sweet and open. Sweet entry, gentle on the palate. Fruit slowly grows on the mid-palate and is supported by fine-grained tannins. Lovely layers of flavour provide a great complexity on the palate. The tannins grip impressively but are always civilised and never harsh. This is a lovely port which perfectly combines the prettiness of the vintage with a more punchy style of tannins than most ports from this year. 92-94/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
