2012 Quinta do Passadouro LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled unfiltered in 2016. Deep red with a wide rim, no bricking. A reluctant nose which eventually releases an inviting bouquet of flowers and sweet red fruit after some persistent swirling. Soft bramble fruit shows on entry, gentle and sweet. The refined tannins appear on the mid-palate giving gentle support to the fuit. The palate is nicely balanced and rather elegant. A warm finish of bramble fruit also shows the tannins in the wine quite clearly and provides for a good length to the finish. This is a pleasant LBV. 88/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
