2013 Niepoort LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2017. Rich red velvet colour with a wide rim. A delicious nose of warm and floral fruit. Smooth entry bringing sweet strawberry, fruit which is restrained at first but then suddenly bursts onto the taste buds in a huge wave. Soft tannins swim in the background shouting encouragement to the fruit. This has excellent complexity on the palate, a soft aftertaste and a gentle fruit finish with a sweet residue. There is a great balance to this elegant LBV. 88/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
