1981 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2017)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2017. Deep burnished gold colour, but amazingly only 10% opaque. Attractive if muted nose of red pears. Smooth palate with acidity balanced by honey. Initially light and elegant but buids in its presence and weight very well. Bitter-sweet orange zest on the aftertaste is followed by a long length with great persistence. A lovely clean and honeyed port. 92/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
