2015 Duorum

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Duorum's first vintage (both VP and LBV) was 2007. Cask sample with the port having been bottled in late October / early November. Deep crimson colour with a narrow rim. A huge nose of sour blackcurrant. Smooth entry with restrained blueberries but the tannin, acidity and blackcurrant fruit show well on the mid-palate. The palate is big, fragrant and powerful yet still well balanced; the aftertaste peppery but the finish comes back to the fruit. This is an impressive port for the vintage - one to keep rather than to drink now. 93-95/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
