2015 Quinta do Crasto

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

30,000 bottles produced. Deep red colour with a medium rim. A wonderful nose of crushed blackcurrants and torn nettle leaves. Poised entry, full of dark fruit and an underlying layer of acidity with burnt sugar under sour blackcurrant and sweet Victoria plum. Great acidity focuses the palate and fine grained tannins assert more grip than many ports from this vintage. There is a great fragrance to the late palate, with the frgrance continuing onto the aftertaste before a plum and damson finish of incredible length takes over. This is very fine port. 92-94/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
