Cá70, decanted 14:30. Dark dark red, 60% opaque. Big chocolatey Port, with dark cherries. But the heft and length are particularly splendid: solid Port for solid people. Excellent.

Deeper in tone than the 1970 Foz tasted alongside this wine, but the difference is marginal; the tone is slightly more ruby so this wine looks slightly more youthful. 70% opaque. A peculiar soapy nose on this wine, that is also to be found on the 1970 Foz. The soapy flavours show on the impact on the palate and grow more pronounced on the mid-palate and is really quite unpleasant. Hot aftertaste, but still tasting of washing up liquid. There are bruised dark cherries on the finish that lead to overly sweet, sugary black chocolate. 73/100.
