Cá66, decanted 14:15. Fantastic. Massive and long, with white pepper, and a deep variety of flavours. Huge, but slightly dry. At its peak, and a splendid peak.

Bottled by the Wine Society. Mature red colour, looking to be nicely middle-aged; 50% opaque. Surprisingly youthful nose with gentle mace infused red fruit but with a touch of the astringency that mace brings. Sweet entry with lots of fruit that is initially quite simple. Air allows a lot of new flavours to develop on the late palate giving a nice, full and layered set of sensations. Some heat protrudes on the aftertaste but this gives way to a sticky finish of decent length. 86/100. 4½ hour decant.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
