2013 Ramos Pinto LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A cask sample of a wine which will be bottled unfiltered later in 2017. Youthful red with a medium rim. Vibrant blackcurrants on the nose, deliciously sweet and sour. Gentle entry, surprisingly so given the power of the nose, with lots of tannin and plenty of fruit on the mid-palate. Good chewy tannins on the fruity finish. Quite light and balanced in style this makes an elegant and refreshing drink. 88/100. 23-Jun-17. Decanted 1 hour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
