1945 Martinez

Mature red with tones of brick, 40% opaque. Gentle spicy cranberries on the nose, spiced with white peppercorns. Elegant on entry, poised and balanced with soft strawberries and so much pepper! Smooth and well balanced with hints of coffee. Very flavoursome, very tasty with a good big palate. Cranberries dominate the aftertaste, the dryness on the tongue showing the tannins still present in the wine. The coffee fades to a maraschino cherry. This is a lovely, fragrant and elegant port. 94/100. 23-Jun-17. Decanted 5 hours.
