1960 Croft

Drunk at the Casa Ribeira Restaurante (where they do an excellent suckling pig).

Oporto bottled. Gentle spiced raisins and citrus zest on the nose. Gentle orange and candied cherry on the palate, sweet and highlighting the ground peppercorn liveliness to the wine. Sweet and gentle chocolate on the palate, creamy and a little spicy but with a nice thick texture. Hot on the aftertaste with a milk chocolate and and orange finish with heat all the way through. Showing lots of orange and lots of milk chocolate. 88/100. 22-Jun-17. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
