1967 Taylor Vargellas

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Drunk at the Factory House on the occasion of The Port Forum's 10th Anniversary dinner. Sourced from the cellar of the Factory House.

A little soft, bruised fruit shows on the nose. Coffee dominates the entry, with a coffee caramel mid-palate. Coffee seems to be the theme of this bottle with a rich, coffee aftertaste that is relatively short. This port is drying out and shows little real fruit but is thoroughly inoffensive. 82/100. 21-Jun-17. Decanted 3½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
