1890 Ramos Pinto White Colheita (bottled 1920s)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Believed to have been bottled in the 1920s. Burnished gold in colour, about 20% opaque. Oxidised but elegant and flavoursome on the palate. Eminently drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable. Very dry, leading me to speculate whether it had been fermented fully and then fortified. 85/100. 19-Jun-17. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
