NV Fonseca Crusted 2007

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Brick red colour, 90% opaque. An odd and offputting nose but if you get past this the entry is not much better being bland, soft and flabby. Hollow mid-palate but some life appears on the late palate. This bottle is rather dried out although a little sweet fruit and ripe tannin appears on the finish. Very much worse than the bottle tried the previous year. 74/100. 24-May-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
