1991 Andresen Colheita (bottled 2016)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Tasted at the Sunday Times wine show at the old Billingsgate market in London.

Bottled 2016. Pale orange in colour, 10% opaque. Gentle and attractive nose of toffee and dried figs. Sweet on the palate, with balance and elegance. Toasted cinder toffee on the mid-palate with a nice element of acidity keep the freshness. Lots of caramel and soft hazelnut show on the aftertaste and the hazelnuts dominate the lingering and gentle finish. This is elegant and gentle. 87/100. Drunk 19-May-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
