2000 Offley

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

By the glass from the Boot & Flogger. Deep red, opaque centre. An attractive fruity nose of sweet dark cherry and sour rhubarb juice. On the palate this is youthful and slightly aggressive with lots of acidity showing on the initial sip. Firm tannins show on the mid-palate before the sour cherry and bitter sloe comes through. The bitter sloe dominates the aftertaste and slowly changes to a kumquat bitter-sweet finish where the green tanins show up again. Needs more time, currently very unbalanced! 85/100. Drunk 10-May-17.
