Oporto bottled in dark brown glass. An attractive mature red colour with a light rose rim, 30% opaque. Gentle on the nose, bringing sweet aniseed and slightly bitter hawthorn fruit. The two combine to give a lovely bitter-sweet bouquet. Very smooth entry with a delicious balance that merges plenty of bitter damsons over sweet underlying fruit. Light and spritely with plenty of flavour and soft tannins. Rather dry on the aftertaste with a long damson skin finish. This is good port and my wine of the night. Served blind this was guessed to be Warre 1970. 91/100. Decanted 6½ hours. Drunk 28 September 2017.

45% opacity, red, amber rim, cloudy. Candy and red fruits, strawberry, cranberry. Smooth, sytupy entry, sweetness, great balance, lip licking finish. Strawberries. I guessed Ni66. What was I doing?? Re-reading my note, this was obviously a G70!

G70, decanted 11:45. Glorious red, 50% opaque. Palate of red-fruited yumminess.
