Deep red with an opaque centre. Mature, but not youthful. Rich with fresh fruit on the nose. Smooth entry onto the palate wih young fruit and a generous dollop of tannins drying out the mouth. Big and rich fruit shows over the tonge, but in a way which hints at this wine being slightly closed. Dry and tannic aftertaste and a big finish full of rich, dark cherry fruit. This needs more time. Served blind it was guessed to be Dow 1994. 90/100.
