35% opacity, warm red, rim slightly brown. Velvety entry, sweetness, red fruits, crranberries and a little mocha bitterness towards the finish. Good balance, gentle tannins with the finish. I guessed D70.

Lovely mature red colour, warm and cherry like in tone; 40% opaque. Herbaceous on the nose, showing some sour cranberry. Mature but still with some youth on the palate, a little restrained at first but generous levels of fruit come through on the mid-palate; fruit which is mixed with the dry texture of plum stones. This port has a delightful balance on the palate with lovely sweet plummy fruit. The finish is great, sweet and delicious with a nice length to it. This is comfort port which needs no more time in the cellar. Served blind, this was guessed to be Warre 1985. 86/100. 09-Aug-17. Decanted 11 hours.
