NV Sandeman Tawny 40YO (bottled 2017)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2017. Light orange colour, less than 10% opaque. Gentle orange on the nose; smooth texture on the palate. Honey and lemon dominate the flavours with a burly acidity behind them. A lovely perfume appears on the late palate before a honey atertaste takes over and leads to a slightly dry finish - could there be some tannins still in this port? Nice length to the finish. 92/100. Drunk 04-Apr-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
