1985 Feuerheerd
Ruby red colour with a pale rose rim, 40% opaque. Slightly spirity on the nose with a slight hint of sulphur mixed in with the redcurrants and junipers. Light and lively on the palate, lacking a little fruit and dominated by a rather woody flavour and red licorice. The overall palate impression is of a lightweight wine that is starting to dry out. The aftertaste is hot but leads to a fiery aniseed ball finish of great length. 86/100. Drunk 25-Mar-17. Decanted 1 hour.
