1994 Sandeman

By the glass from the Boot & Flogger, not certain how long the bottle has been open. Slightly stewed nose, smelling as though it has been open for a while. Modest entry with a nice body, lots of dark cherries on the late palate but rather badly stewed from prolonged contact with air. Some peppercorn on the aftertaste, then a long and lovely finish of chewy, slightly bitter juniper and sour cherry. Very pleasant. 88/100. Drunk 09-Mar-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
