1970 Dow
Re: 1970 Dow
D70. Dark red 40% opaque. Dark cherry on both nose and palate. Big and long and excellent mature Port. Somebody correctly said ‘haughty’.

Re: 1970 Dow
Dark red and mature, very attractive appearance that is 50% opaque. A lovely sweet nose, lots of soft spiced fruit canned cherry syrup. Lively, very attractive; fragrant and lovely. Soft and sweet entry, but dry and haughty on the mid-palate with some dry tannins gripping on a dry but fruit-driven palate. Long and lingering fruity aftertaste with a delicious burnt match and black chocolate finish of great length. Very lovely, initially preferred over the Krohn 1965 but the order of preference had reversed by the end of the evening. 93/100. Drunk 10-Apr-17. Decanted 12 hours.
