1972 Graham Single Harvest Tawny (bottled 2015)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2015. Golden brown with a slight green rim, 10% opaque. An attractive pistachio nose with a lively star-fruit acidity. Multiple layers show on the nose. Soft entry onto the palate with smoke, dried pineapple and burnt orange marmalade gripping the taste buds. Great acidity keeps the freshness and balance. The acidity flashes on the aftertaste before a soft heat takes over and leads to a toffee and caramel finish that eventually evolves back to burnt marmalade. A wonderful port. 94/100. Drunk 21-Feb-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
