2010 Cockburn Canais

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Made mainly from Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca grapes; vinified at Senhora da Ribeira. Deep red colour, opaque centre. Faint nose of harsh and distinct blackcurrant. Vibrant and youthful fruit on the palate, beautifully perfumed, almost hiding the tannins. The purity of the fruit is just wonderful and dominates the aftertaste and the finish. Great length. This wine has a lovely elegance to it. 92/100. Drunk 21-Feb-17.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
