1995 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottles 1196 and 3254 were opened for the tasting. Deep red colour with no purple in the tone; 90% opaque. A lovely nose, full of fruit but with a nice counter-point of sous bois. Smooth and silky entry with delicious fruit delivering a big mouthful backed by dry cocoa tannins - youthful but delicious. Slightly chewy aftertaste with a heated finish and a long, lingering, dry, chewy tail. A lovely port and one with a long future. 89/100.

Drunk at the Berry Brothers Port Walk on 24 Nov 2016.
