This was a bottle acquired from a dealer in the UK. The bottle was believed to be Taylor from the period 1920-1948. Close inspection and cleaning of both cork and embossed lead seal revealed this to be Taylor 1927.
Mid red in colour, mature and 40% opaque. Big and expressive on the nose with subtle hints of rosemary. Sweet and delicate fruit on the palate, gentle and subtle yet with a real liveliness and pepperiness. Combining elegance and power in a most impressive manner. The finish was incredibly long. This was absolutely delicious and very, very alive. 95/100. Drunk 27-Sep-16. Decanted ½ hour.
