2008 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Circa 1,000 cases made. Deep red in colour with a tiny rim and magenta at the core. Subdued on the nose, smelling of fragrant crushed raspberries and juniper. Restrained fruit on entry with tannins slow to arrive; lower levels of acidity than the 2007 shown alongside but the tannins are far more pronounced - although very ripe and toasted. Delicious tannins on the finish, hinting at caramelized fruitskins - long and delicious. 94/100. Drunk 26-Sep-16. Pop 'n' pour.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
