2003 Quinta do Noval
Deep scarlet in colour, opaque at the centre and with a narrow rim. Delicious on the nose with rich bramble fruit that is ripe and succulent. Round and silky entry with big ripe fruit that leads a generous dose of tannins; nicely balanced. Lively on the aftertaste and a peppery start to the finish and lovely fruit at the end. Good now, but will be better in 30 years. 95/100. Drunk 26-Sep-16. Decanted 1 hour.
