1974 Quinta do Noval Colheita Port (bottled 2004)
Tasted September 2005:
Clear, brown color with a bit of orange/rusty bricking. Medium sweet nose, full with raisins, caramel, dried citrus peel and mocha. A bit creamy and a only slightly medicinal. Lots of citrus in the mouth, together with candied (tropical) fruit. Very fresh, with a sharp edge that adds interest. Full flavoured and rich, without being thick. Long creamy finish with mocha and dried figs. A lovely port with a perfect balance, complex and beautiful. Certainly one of the best colheitas that is currently available. 94 points.

BTW, I also tried the 2005 bottling not too long ago. It was every bit as good as the '04 bottling.
