1957 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2016)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled 2016. Olive brown colour with a slight green rim. Some gentle VA on the nose; balanced entry with the acidity leading with fruit flavours slow to follow. Soft golden syrup shows on the mid-palate with dried dates and a great depth. A deeply flavoured aftertaste with a heavy and lovely finish. This is a much more burly wine than some of the younger Kopke colheitas drunk the same day. 89/100. Tasted 02-Mar-16.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
